Government entities meet next week on North Olympic Peninsula

Jefferson County

The three Jefferson County commissioners will continue their discussion about the Beaver Valley Sorts timber sale during a special meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

No meeting will be conducted Monday, which is Memorial Day.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will conduct a public hearing on two surface transportation block grant funding requests in their weekly business meeting Tuesday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Tuesday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday. No meeting will be conducted Monday, which is Memorial Day.

The hybrid meetings are in the county commissioners meeting room in the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

The surface transportation block grant funding is for $1,176,311 to complete the North Sequim Avenue arterial overlay project and to construct of a 3,700 segment of the Olympic Discovery Trail between west Michigan Road and Old Blyn Highway.

Agenda items include:

• A public hearing on debatable budget emergencies.

• An agreement with CDW Government LLC for $372,720 for access control and security cameras for the courthouse.

• A resolution to apply for a grant from the Estuary and Salmon Restoration Program for a feasibility study in cooperation with the Four Seasons Ranch Homeowners Association.

• A resolution regarding disbursement of $253,208 of lodging tax funds to Lincoln Park BMX Association, $19,570; Peninsula Trails Coalition, $20,000; Port Angeles Waterfront Center, $145,000; Forks Chamber of Commerce, $53,638; and Olympic Peninsula Visitor Bureau, $15,000.

• A call for bids for the McDonald Creek fish passage project. Bids are due by 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21.
