Tidepools literary magazine reveals 2014 edition winners

PORT ANGELES — Contest winners have been named for the 2014 edition of Tidepools, Peninsula College’s art, music and literary magazine.

The magazine features fine art, photography, poetry, short prose and music by Olympic Peninsula residents, and is produced by the students of Peninsula College with support from the Peninsula Daily News.

This year, Tidepools is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a special double issue.

Tidepools 2014 is scheduled to be released June 4.

The winners

■ Adult Prose

Second: “How A Misbehaving Thumb and Too Much Caffeine can get you out of Bulgaria” by Alicia Jean Demetropolis of Port Townsend.

Third: “Traveltainted” by Amy McIntyre of Port Angeles.

Second: “Kit-Teens in the Window” by Diane Hammer of Sequim.

Third: “Tidepool” by Richard Seiler of Sequim.

■ Adult Fine Art:First: “Turtle Hunters” by Sky A. Heatherton of Port Angeles.

Second: “Middle Crow” by Kate Goschen of Sequim.

Third: “Trouble in the Hood” by Luke J. Tornatzky of Port Townsend.

First: “Lava Towers” by Pamela Dick of Sequim.

Second: “Augment” by Ken Dry of Port Angeles.

Third: “Swan Moon” by Sandra E. Wolf of Sequim.
