Tickets for the 35th annual Sequim Community Christmas Chorus performances on sale now

SEQUIM — Tickets are on sale now for the Sequim Community Christmas Chorus’ 35th annual performances.

Performances are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, and at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Sequim Seventh-day Adventist Church, 30 Sanford Lane.

Tickets can be purchased for $5 each at the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, 1192 E. Washington St., and at Bauer Interior Design, 119 N. Sequim Ave.

Admission also is available at the door by a suggested donation of $5; children younger than 12 will be admitted free.

The chorus will present a program of Christmas favorites such as the “Hallelujah Chorus,” “Peace, Peace” and “Sing Gloria.”

The chorus is under the direction of Louise Pluymen, whose musical career includes performances as a soprano soloist with the Seattle Symphony, Dallas Symphony and Florida Philharmonic.

Pianist Kayla (Dyment) Layer will return to accompany the chorus.

Layer teaches piano in her Sequim studio and works as a professional accompanist.

The program also includes a solo performance Friday and Saturday by Rob Pluymen.

Pluymen will sing “Ave Maria,” “Panis Angelicus” and “Stille Nacht.”

Again this year, the chorus will make a donation to the Sequim Community Orchestra’s Kids’ Strings Program, which was the recipient of its $1,200 donation last year. This program introduces elementary school children to music.
