PORT ANGELES — Three new ballot drop boxes have been added to serve Clallam Bay-Sekiu and Neah Bay voters, the Clallam County Auditor’s Office announced.
A fourth new drop box will be available in Carlsborg later this week, county officials said.
Ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 6 or delivered to an official drop box by 8 p.m. Nov. 6 to be counted in the 2018 general election.
Here are the locations for the new drop boxes on the West End:
• Clallam Bay — Clallam Bay branch library, 16990 state Highway 112.
• Neah Bay — Washburn’s General Store, 1450 Bayview Ave.
• Sekiu — Clallam County Public Utility District’s Clallam Bay/Sekiu office, 15 Sekiu Airport Road.
A fourth new drop box is scheduled to open Wednesday at Sunny Farms Country Store in Carlsborg, 261461 U.S. Highway 101.
The Carlsborg box will allow for driver’s side drop-off and can be accessed off Mill Road, the Auditor’s Office said in a Thursday announcement.
Other ballot drop boxes are located in the following locations:
• Forks — Forks City Hall, 500 E. Division St.
• Port Angeles — Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St.
• Sequim — Sequim Village Shopping Center near JCPenney, 651 W. Washington St.
“We are truly grateful to our community partners who made it possible to provide the [new] ballot drop boxes to voters,” Clallam County Auditor Shoona Riggs said in a news release.
“Offering new drop boxes in the county involved setting up new partnerships with property owners who provided space for the boxes and training workers who will provide secure delivery of the ballots.”
The Auditor’s Office had received 8,096 ballots — or 15.42 percent — of the 52,519 ballots mailed to registered voters countywide as of Friday.
