Three injured in two-car collision at Carlsborg Road

SEQUIM — Three people were transported to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles following a two-car collision on U.S. Highway 101 at Carlsborg Road.

Joelle Thompson, 48, of Tacoma was traveling eastbound on Highway 101 in a 2016 Lexus GS about 11:58 a.m. Sunday when she failed to stop at the traffic signal at Carlsborg Road and collided with another vehicle, the State Patrol said.

James Meyer, 66, of Sequim was turning left in a 2013 Subaru Outback from Carlsborg Road onto eastbound Highway 101 when the car he was driving was struck, the State Patrol said.

Thompson’s Lexus came to rest at Highway 101 and Hooker Road while Meyer’s Subaru stopped on the shoulder of eastbound Highway 101, the State Patrol said.

Meyer and two passengers, Deepa Dahal, 45, of Seattle and Kim Meyer, 69, of Sequim were transported with injuries to OMC, the State Patrol said.

Thompson was not injured, the agency reported.

All four people involved were wearing seat belts, the State Patrol said.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the agency added.

Both vehicles were totally destroyed and towed from the scene, the State Patrol said.
