PORT ANGELES — One man has been sentenced, another faces sentencing, and a third faces trial in a March trailer burglary.
A computer, cellphone, cash and the shoes off a man’s feet were stolen, police said.
Ordez Eugene Kompkoff, 19, of Port Angeles pleaded guilty Thursday to one count each of second-degree burglary and first-degree theft, according to Clallam County Superior Court documents.
He was sentenced to four months in jail with credit for 94 days served and the remaining 26 days converted to 208 hours of community service.
Joshua Allen Cabe, 26, of Forks, a reported accomplice of Kompkoff’s, pleaded guilty June 10 to first-degree theft and is set to be sentenced Wednesday.
Zachary Michael Taylor, 20, of Port Angeles was charged and pleaded not guilty to one count each of first-degree robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, unlawful imprisonment, fourth-degree assault and third-degree theft.
Taylor has trial date set for July 14 and remained Saturday in the county jail in $25,000 bond.
Police accounts
Port Angeles police said Cabe, Kompkoff and Taylor forced their way into the trailer of Daniel Joseph Jenkins, 21, at the Welcome Inn Trailer and RV Park, 1215 W. U.S. Highway 101, at about 12:07 a.m. March 18.
The trio allegedly attacked Jenkins and made off with his computer, cellphone, cash and the shoes off his feet, among other items, according to police accounts.
Cabe was initially charged with and pleaded not guilty to one count each of first-degree robbery, unlawful imprisonment, third-degree theft and fourth-degree assault in the case.
Kompkoff was initially charged with and pleaded not guilty to the same counts as Taylor.
The theft-of-a-motor-vehicle count stems from Taylor and Kompkoff allegedly taking the 2002 Volkswagen Jetta that Cabe had been driving March 18, police said in a report filed in Superior Court.
The pair allegedly took the car keys from Cabe’s pants pockets while he slept in a room at the Aircrest Motel, where the three had been, at about 9:49 a.m. March 18, according to police.
The car, which reportedly belonged to Cabe’s mother, was found later that day near the intersection of 11th and A streets, police said.
Jenkins sentenced
Jenkins was sentenced May 13 to 30 days in jail, converted to 240 hours of community service, after he pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault for hitting Taylor with a metal pipe the evening of March 18.
Police arrested Taylor on March 19 after he was discharged from Olympic Medical Center after treatment for a head wound.
Police arrested Cabe on March 20 and took Kompkoff into custody after he turned himself in March 21.
