NASA astronaut Terry Virts, flying in the International Space Station about 240 miles above Earth, took this photo of Cape Flattery and the entrance to the Strait of Juan de Fuca during a break in the winter clouds Jan. 5.
This photo is part of an amazing array of images Virts has taken with his Nikon D4 digital camera from the Space Station.
He has posted them — including unusual sunrise and moonrise photos as well those of other geographical locations — on his Twitter feed, @AstroTerry.
