Hailey, Kaitlyn, Jessica, Jacob, Austin and Jonathan should be ready to start pre-school soon.
Those were the most popular names for babies born on the North Olympic Peninsula in 1999, the most recent year for which records are available.
Rounding out the top ten girls’ names in 1999 are Madison, Emily, Taylor, Olivia, Jasmine, Lillian and Sarah.
For boys, the other names in the top ten were Nathan, Zachary, Carson, Jesse, William, Matthew and Robert in 1999.
According to state Department of Health records, 305 boys and 432 girls were born to North Olympic Peninsula families that year.
Many of the babies were named similarly.
Of the boys born that year, 15 were named Jacob, or a derivative of that; nine were called Austin.
The number of babies boys named Jonathan or similarly totaled eight in 1999. Seven were called by variations of Nathan.
Jacob and Austin were the most popular boys’ names in both counties.
