The American Association of Retired Persons is seeking Tax-Aide volunteers for the upcoming tax season and will conduct volunteer training programs across the North Olympic Peninsula beginning in December.
Those interested in volunteering can visit aarp.org/taxaide to complete an online application.
Training sessions had not been scheduled as of this week. A majority of the training will be completed online through self-service portals at participants’ homes.
Volunteers will provide free tax return preparations and electronic filing for low- and middle-income, as well as senior community members.
To provide services during tax season, volunteers are required to attend all training classes and pass the Internal Revenue Service’s tests.
Local coordinators are available to provide information such as training locations and other information.
