PORT TOWNSEND — Some people started eating on the east end of Water Street.
Others started eating on the west.
But many people concluded the 12th Annual Taste of Port Townsend with a mini sundae Thursday at Elevated Ice Cream and Candy Shop, 627 Water St.
Ice cream, it seems, was the favorite desert for many of the 200 people who had tickets for the sold-out event.
Elevated Ice Cream owner Julie McCulloch and her staff were coping with a line that stretched from the counter to the street as Taste of Port Townsend began to wrap up just before 7:30 p.m.
Dan Colowey, the new owner of The Landfall, 412 Water St., said he was anticipating about 150 of the ticket holders to show up at his restaurant.
He was surprised by the number of people that showed up right at the event’s 4:30 p.m. start time.
Like many restaurateurs, seafood comprised most of what he was preparing.
