Who is Michael Quinn — city manager or Web guru?
The answer is both.
One, Mike Quinn, has been Port Angeles city manager since 1999. He’s the one with the gray hair and brown eyes.
Twenty-five-year-old Michael Quinn has light brown hair and bright blue eyes.
He’s the owner of Affinity Web Solutions, a Web site design, application development and hosting company on the North Olympic Peninsula.
The similarities go beyond the name. For example:
* Each is serious about his work and believes in being an active supporter of the community.
* Each is a graduate of the University of Washington (Mike class of 1972; Michael class of 2002).
* Each is a board member of United Way of Clallam County, and each is a member of the Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce (Michael sits on the board).
It can get confusing.
The 2004 edition of the Peninsula Daily News’ special section, “Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce,” correctly listed the younger Quinn with his business.
But the accompanying photo was definitely that of the other Quinn.
“My mom was reading the section when she saw the photo and said to me, “You look a lot older in your photo,” Michael said.
“We laughed because I’ve gotten confused with Mike before.”
