PORT TOWNSEND — The Swan School has announced that Emily Gohn has taken over as head of the school with the start of the 2020 school year.
Gohn was advanced from her role as kindergarten and first-grade teacher at the school.
According to a press release, Gohn, who is originally from Chimacum, has more that 20 years experience in private schools in New York City in roles that range from teacher through director.
She will replace Russ Yates who has been the head of school since 2005.
Yates will continue at the school as a teacher for fourth- through sixth-graders.
