PORT ANGELES — Sunday’s Seventh Annual Fools Run will honor the late Port Angeles police officer and motorcyclist enthusiast Brian Raymond.
Raymond, a decorated 25-year veteran of the Port Angeles Police Department, died March 25 in Tacoma of complications from surgery.
He was 54.
A celebration of Raymond’s life is scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday at Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Flags in the city have been flying at half-staff in Raymond’s honor since his death, by order of Port Angeles Mayor Gary Braun.
Raymond had been awarded a Clallam County Sheriff’s Office commendation for his work during the Aug. 5, 2000 shooting death of Deputy Wally Davis.
In 2006, he was awarded the Law Enforcement Purple Heart for injuries sustained during an arrest.
