PORT ANGELES — Peninsula College Upward Bound students, along with program director Tammy Napiontek, will present a talk on their new art exhibit, “Pieces of Me,” this Thursday in the Little Theater at Peninsula College, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
Admission is free to the 12:35 p.m. public program, which is part of the campus’ Studium Generale series.
The “Pieces of Me” show, which features mixed-media works on 16-by-20-inch canvases and sculpture boxes, opens today.
It will stay on display now through March 6 in the college’s PUB Gallery of Art adjacent to the Little Theater.
Admission is free to the gallery, which is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“This was not simply an art project,” Napiontek said.
“It was a chance for students to ‘talk’ through some of the things in their lives they still held on to.”
In these largely autobiographical works, “you will see where students saw themselves in the past, where they are presently and who they will be in the future,” she added.
