Students offered gift cards at vaccination clinics

Students already vaccinated may present their vaccination card and receive a $50 reward card as well

SEQUIM — Students can get $50 reward cards for getting vaccinated at upcoming clinics.

The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and Clallam County Health and Human Services plan to distribute Student Vaccination Reward Cards of $50 to each student attending any of the upcoming student vaccination events.

Students already vaccinated may present their vaccination card and receive a $50 reward card as well, according to a press release.

“We are very excited about this opportunity to reward those students that receive vaccinations. We feel it is important to get our students safely back to school full time and the best way to achieve that is through student vaccinations,” said Brent Simcosky, director of Health Services for the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe.

The tribe and county are splitting the cost of the reward cards, which are MasterCard gift cards, Simcosky said.

“We want to show our community that, if we work together, we can make a difference.”

Said Dr. Allison Berry, public health officer for Clallam and Jefferson counties: “Getting as many eligible kids vaccinated as possible is critical to keeping our schools safe and open this fall.

“We are grateful to partner with the Jamestown tribe to work together to meet this goal.”

Students younger than 18 will need parental consent. If the parent is not present, a student can provide written consent or have the parent call during the vaccination.

Consent forms can be found at: http://www.clallam.net/coronavirus/doc/CCIC5-21.pdf.
