PORT ANGELES — In her dream, Anne Rutherford walks toward “The Blue Remove,” a paradise high in the mountains.
The people she loves are there: the grandmother who taught her how to relish the journey of life, and “sweet Frank,” her husband for 47 years.
“The Blue Remove” is one among the stories being told during the 19th annual Forest Storytelling Festival, which wraps today with a free Inspirational Concert at 10 a.m. and two more performances at noon and 12:45 p.m.
All three will take place in the Little Theater at Peninsula College, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
Inspirational performers
Rutherford, from Portland, Ore., is one of six performers in the Inspirational Concert.
Meg Philp of Queensland, Australia; humorist Andy Offutt Irwin, originally from Georgia; Mary Hamilton of Kentucky; Gene Tagaban of Juneau, Alaska; and Billie Mazzei of Olympia will offer personal stories as well as tales from folklore in this morning’s concert.
There’s no charge since it is “our gift to the community,” said festival director Cherie Trebon.
Philp will give the noon concert, with local storyteller Erran Sharpe opening.
Then comes Irwin with the festival’s final performance at 12:45 p.m.
An admission charge of $15 covers both performances.
