PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles police officers and Clallam County sheriff’s detectives have recovered many of the vehicle parts found stripped from a van reported stolen from a Port Angeles auto dealership earlier in the week.
On Thursday, 21-year-old Alicia Lin Beck of Port Angeles was arrested for investigation of possession of a stolen vehicle and malicious mischief in connection with the van theft and booked into the Clallam County jail.
Investigators in the case also have identified a male suspect in the theft of the black Scion xB van, Port Angeles Deputy Police Chief Brian Smith said in an email Friday, though they are not ready to release his name.
Port Angeles police and county sheriff’s detectives recovered all four tires, wheels and additional vehicle parts from a home on Lake Farm Road east of Port Angeles on Friday after obtaining a search warrant, police said.
The parts have been returned to Ruddell Auto Mall at 110 Golf Course Road, from where the Scion van initially was reported stolen Monday, Smith said.
As of Saturday, Beck was no longer listed on the jail roster.
After reviewing video surveillance footage, investigators determined that the van had been broken into the evening of Nov. 4 and its keys stolen.
The van was stolen later that night and eventually found by Clallam County sheriff’s deputies in a separate location and missing some engine parts, wheels, tires, most of the interior parts and the seats, Smith said earlier this week.
