PORT ANGELES — The Stevens Middle School Student Leadership team has planned daily events in celebration of the school’s annual Red Ribbon and Spirit Week.
The intent, and week’s theme, is to encourage the entire student body to make a commitment to remain drug-free.
Activities begin Monday and extend through Friday.
At 7 p.m. Tuesday, students will gather with classmates and family members for a bonfire program in Stevens’ main gymnasium at 1139 W. 14th St.
After music by the Stevens Jazz Band, Orchestra and Chorus, students can make symbolic commitments to stay drug-free by tossing sticks into the bonfire.
Students have selected themes for each day.
Monday is Nerd/Twin Day, Tuesday is Red & White/Decades Day, Wednesday is Sports/PJ’s Day, Thursday is Hero/Disney/Halloween Costume Day, and Friday is Big Country Slam/“Duck Dynasty” Day.
