SEQUIM — Theater-goers will be invited this week inside Truvy’s Beauty Shop for all kinds of conversation with six Louisiana women.
“Steel Magnolias,” the tragicomedy made famous in the 1989 movie starring Dolly Parton, is coming to Olympic Theatre Arts for a preview performance Thursday.
Curtain time is 7:30 p.m., and all seats are $10 — except for Olympic Theatre Arts members, who get in free.
Preview tickets will be available at the door only for Thursday’s show at OTA, 414 N. Sequim Ave.,
Then “Magnolias” opens Friday for a three-week run, with tickets at $16 for adults and $10 for those 16 and younger.
Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights plus two Thursday shows: April 9 and 16. Admission to the April 9 performance only will be on a pay-what-you-can basis.
Sunday matinees are slated for 2 p.m. April 12 and 19.
Sequim’s “Steel Magnolias” cast includes Olivia Shea as Clairee, Jennifer Horton as Truvy, Darlene Clemens as Ouiser, Lily Carignan as Annelle, Angela Poynther-Lemaster as M’Lynn and newcomer Lauren Denton as Shelby.
