PORT TOWNSEND — Will Gallin will present “Geologic Carbon Sequestration in Washington State” at 4 p.m. Saturday.
The free online lecture is sponsored by the Quimper Geologic Society.
Gallin will discuss the benefits, risks, technological possibility and economic feasibility of permanent mineralized carbon sequestration in Columbia River basalts.
Gallin, a geologist, is the carbon sequestration project lead for the state Department of Natural Resources’ Geological Survey.
