Staff changes made for Peninsula Daily News, Sequim Gazette, Forks Forum

JOHN BREWER, PUBLISHER of the Peninsula Daily News, the weekly Sequim Gazette and the weekly Forks Forum, has announced three staff changes:

■ Chris McDaniel is the new Sequim-Dungeness Valley editor for the PDN.

He is based in Sequim and succeeds Joe Smillie, now an information officer with the state Department of Natural Resources.

McDaniel comes to the North Olympic Peninsula from the Yuma Sun in Arizona, where he was a reporter/photographer for six years.

■ Vivian Hansen has been promoted to special sections coordinator for the PDN, Gazette and Forum in addition to handling multimedia advertising sales.

She oversees advertising for the three newspapers’ websites and also places ads from North Olympic Peninsula businesses on websites belonging to other newspapers in Washington state.

■ Marilyn Parrish has joined the sales team for the PDN, Gazette and Forum.

She handles the downtown Port Angeles area for print and online advertising and works with Hansen on special section ad sales.

Now in its 99th year, Peninsula Daily News serves both Clallam and Jefferson counties.

The Sequim Gazette and Forks Forum circulate in their respective communities every week.

All three newspapers are owned by Sound Publishing Inc., the largest community news organization in Washington.
