PORT ANGELES — One of the North Olympic Peninsula’s rites of spring returns Saturday when the Port Angeles Rotary Club and Port Angeles Garden Club team for a daylong show and dinner/auction.
The sixth annual Spring Garden Fair at the Vern Burton Community Center, Peabody and Fourth streets, starts at 9 a.m.
The Garden Club will hold its annual spring plant sale to raise funds for its scholarship program and other community service projects.
Members will share plants from their gardens, including bulbs and tubers, in the atrium area.
North Olympic peninsula nursery, horticultural, lumber, landscaping and home improvement businesses will exhibit products and plants at the indoor fair inside the Vern Burton Center.
Hourly demonstrations by local artists will be given during the indoor show and atrium garden sale, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dinner and auction
Then at 6 p.m., the Port Angeles Rotary Club takes over the Vern Burton for its annual dinner and auction to raise funds for community projects and scholarship programs through the club’s Port Angeles Rotary Foundation.
The buffet dinner will be catered by Bella Italia restaurant, and entertainment will be provided by the band Manteca.
After dinner, an oral auction with more than 40 large items and packages available to bid on.
Admission to the garden fair is free.
