SEQUIM — The fourth annual Clallam County Solar Tour presented by Clallam County Public Utility District will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
“Solar Central” will be Sequim High School, 601 N. Sequim Ave. Two workshops on “Getting Started with Solar” will be held in the high school’s cafeteria at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
A pole-mounted solar system and the PUD’s solar-powered House-on-Wheels will be at the high school.
There is a self-guided tour of 20 “green” facilities, including buildings using on-grid and off-grid solar electric installations and other energy-efficient measures.
Maps will be available at the high school along with information about low-interest loan programs and PUD and federal energy efficiency incentives for solar installations.
“With the variety of incentive programs available now, the economics of maximizing home energy efficiency and going solar are better than they’ve ever been — not only for homeowners, but also for business, schools, hospitals and local government,” said PUD Utility Services Adviser Mattias Järvegren.

“The tour provides Peninsula home and business owners with unique opportunities to view the wide array of solar energy solutions available; engage in casual, though informative, face-to-face discussions with solar installation owners, installers, energy efficiency and financing experts; and to take informed proactive steps on their solar jouneys.”
