Snowy time in Olympics; Hurricane Ridge open, but lodge services not operating

The National Weather Service issued this advisory for the Olympic Mountains.

The Hurricane Ridge Road recording by Olympic National Park (360-565-3131) and checked at 11 a.m. reported that the road to the popular ski and snowplay area is open this morning, but no services are available at the lodge at the top of the mile-high Hurricane Ridge.

Tire chains are required past Heart o’ the Hills, and icy patches are frequent in the final 3 miles of the 17-mile road south of Port Angeles.
