PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center is sponsoring Art Club for young people this fall.
Classes will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. every Tuesday between Sept. 9 and Dec. 16 at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St.
The cost is $40 for one month of classes or $10 to drop into a class.
Registration begins today at the parks and recreation office at the community center.
Students will explore traditional materials such as clay and pastels and also work with unusual materials such as recycled phone books or found objects in nature.
Art projects will demonstrate basic art fundamentals such as color theory, drawing, shape and form.
Students also will have the opportunity to experiment with new media concepts with spotlights on innovative contemporary artists.

They can be taken to the community center’s parks and recreation office with payment.
