Registration for the International Coast Cleanup on Saturday, Sept. 21, is underway at www.coastsavers.org.
Volunteers can select from dozens of beaches to clean, from Cape Disappointment to Cape Flattery.
Worldwide, thousands of volunteers are expected to participate in the global cleanup event, with a goal of protecting the marine environment.
Volunteers who aren’t physically able to carry filled bags off the beach can serve as registration station beach captains, assisting with registering volunteers and ensuring they fill out the proper paperwork and follow protocol.
Those unable to participate can visit www.coastsavers.org and donate to help with cleanup efforts.
