Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash that closed Hood Canal Bridge for about an hour Sunday afternoon, the State Patrol reported.
The crash occurred when an eastbound 1988 Toyota driven by Anna Helene Vinitsky, 19, of Port Townsend stuck the temporary concrete wall on the south side of the bridge’s west half, troopers said.
The car crossed the bridge twice and bounced off the retaining walls, then struck a 1999 Toyota driven by Ruth A. Theisen, 51, of Port Angeles, the patrol reported.
Vinitsky was transported by ambulance to Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton where she was treated and released. Theisen and her passenger, Barbara Rose Theisen, 55, also of Port Angeles, were transported by ambulance to Jefferson General Hospital in Port Townsend. No nursing supervisor was available Sunday night to report the Theisens’ conditions.
