SEQUIM — Clallam County sheriff’s deputies are looking for two Sequim men — after arresting a third — suspected in a home burglary along Woodcock Road.
The search is related to the multi-agency pursuit and eventual arrest of Drew Balch, 21, apprehended after a chase that covered 19.8 miles and ended Wednesday morning on Old Gardiner Road.
The Sheriff’s Office said it is looking for Andrew Donald Luquette, 31, and Ronnie Lee Bayley, 37, both described as transients from the Sequim area, in connection with a home break-in along Woodcock Road between Kays and Towne roads, said Detective Sgt. John Keegan with the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested Ryan Joseph Luquette, 34, brother of Andrew Luquette, at about 1:30 p.m. today (Friday) after a three-day investigation.
Andrew Luquette is described as 6 feet, 1 inch tall, 207 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Bayley is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
Deputies said they suspect Luquette and Bayley of being involved in the burglary after an investigation that started with reports of a suspicious gray truck and red Jeep Cherokee parked on Many Feathers Way, Keegan said. Witnesses reported seeing people transferring items in between the two vehicles, the sergeant said.
Deputies pursued and caught up to the truck, driven by Balch, and later learned through him that the Jeep and its contents had been allegedly stolen from a previously unreported burglary, Keegan said.
Deputies found the burglarized house on Woodcock Road later Wednesday, Keegan added.
After several interviews, deputies served a search warrant Thursday on a shed next to a house in the Sequim area that Andrew Luquette was seen loading items into, Keegan said.
Deputies confirmed that the items were stolen from the Woodcock Road home, Keegan said. They found the stolen Jeep stripped the next day along a logging road near the 2900 block of Blue Mountain Road.
After the Jeep was discovered, someone deputies had previously interviewed turned in a backpack belonging to Ryan Luquette containing more stolen items from the Woodcock Road home, Keegan said.
Deputies arrested Ryan Luquette about an hour later at a home along Many Feathers Way and booked him into the Clallam County jail for investigation of second-degree burglary, third-degree possession of stolen property and an outstanding arrest warrant.
