Sequim woman sought following alleged hatchet assault

SEQUIM — The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a Sequim woman authorities say might have attacked her boyfriend with a hatchet.

Elisha Stark, 24, is being sought for investigation of an assault Saturday and for causing a disturbance Sunday morning at a residence on the 400 block of Dungeness Meadows, Sgt. Eric Munger said in an interview Monday.

Stark is 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs 170 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes.

It is unknown if Stark is currently armed, but she is potentially dangerous, Munger said.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Stark is asked to phone the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office at 360-417-2459.

At 10:17 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to the residence for a disturbance complaint, Munger said.

Deputies were told that several adults reside together there as roommates, he said.

They reported that Stark, the girlfriend of one of the residents, had just been at the home causing a disturbance.

Munger said that during their investigation of the incident, deputies learned that Stark reportedly assaulted her boyfriend with a hatchet the night before.

The witnesses reported to the deputies that Stark and her boyfriend were involved in an argument Saturday night, and Stark took his clothing and personal items outside and was going to light them on fire.

He tried gathering his belongings to bring them back inside.

“While he was doing this, Stark grabbed a hatchet and swung it at him. The hatchet struck his arm, causing a deep cut wound,” Munger said in a news release.

Witnesses said she left shortly afterward, he said.

Munger said the Stark returned Sunday, causing another disturbance, but was gone before the deputies arrived.

Deputies said they found that the victim had a substantial cut on his arm near the elbow and called for paramedics, but he declined to go to the hospital.
