BRINNON — A young woman was taken to Jefferson Healthcare hospital on Monday after losing control of her vehicle on U.S. Highway 101 near Brinnon.
Just before 8:30 a.m., Madelynn Potts, 19, of Sequim was driving south on Highway 101 roughly 4 miles north of Brinnon when her car lost traction and went off the road to the right, according to State Patrol.
Her vehicle, a light blue 2001 Ford Taurus, struck an embankment on the right side of the road which caused the car to flip and stop partially blocking the southbound lane, the State Patrol said.
Requests for her condition were not answered by Jefferson Healthcare.
State Patrol said that Potts was driving too fast for the current road conditions.
She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, the State Patrol said.
Her car was completely destroyed, troopers said.
