PORT ANGELES — A woman injured when her car struck debris dropped by a truck in the Morse Creek curve last week was treated and discharged from Olympic Medical Center.
Wendy B. Schultz, 63, of Sequim had been taken to the hospital after the wreck, which tied up traffic on U.S. Highway 101 3 miles east of Port Angeles for 90 minutes Thursday.
By Friday, she had been discharged.
The debris — HardiPlank composite siding — was cleared from the roadway shortly before 7 p.m.
It fell from a westbound 1991 Chevrolet flatbed truck when a strap broke, sending the siding onto the eastbound lanes, where it broke apart and was truck by Schultz’s 2010 Volkswagen Jetta.
The truck driver, Julian V. LaMarche, 35, of Port Angeles, was cited by the State Patrol for an unsecured load.
He was uninjured, and his truck was not damaged.
Schultz’s car was towed from the scene.
Both drivers wore seat belts. No alcohol or drugs were involved in the wreck, according to the State Patrol.
