CARLSBORG — A 34-year-old Sequim woman was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol Friday after the car she was driving collided with an unmarked State Patrol vehicle at the corner of Old Olympic Highway and Carlsborg Road, troopers said.
Kesa M. Hobson was treated at Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles before she was booked into the Clallam County jail on suspicion of DUI, according to a State Patrol collision memo.
She remained in the county jail Saturday with no bond set, according to the online jail roster.
Hobson was driving in a 2006 Mazda 6 when she failed to yield at the intersection and collided with a 2013 Chevrolet Caprice driven by State Patrol Sgt. John M. Ryan, who was on duty, at about 10:33 p.m., troopers said.
Ryan, 45, was heading eastbound on the Old Olympic Highway when the collision occurred.
He was treated and discharged from OMC with a sore back, said Trooper Russ Winger, State Patrol spokesman.
Hobson sustained a minor wrist injury in the crash, Winger said.
According to the State Patrol, Hobson was stopped at the stop sign on Carlsborg Road at Old Olympic Highway and pulled into the intersection as Ryan approached.
The front left corner of Hobson’s car collided with the front right corner of the unmarked State Patrol vehicle, troopers said.
Both vehicles were completely destroyed in the crash.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
