SEQUIM — The $1.8 million Sequim Transit Center project should begin construction late this month or early in May, a Clallam Transit official said Monday.
Manager Dan Di Guilio reported to the transit board that Clallam Transit officials will meet with Poulsbo-based Fischer General Contracting Inc., Sequim city staff and architect Bill Lindberg on April 27 for a pre-construction conference.
Shortly afterward, Di Guilio said, construction should begin.
“It’s kind of exciting to see this project get under way,” said Di Guilio.
The transit center project, at North Second Avenue and West Cedar Street near City Hall, will convert and renovate the existing Sequim Community Center, which will be leased back to the city.
