SEQUIM — The next North Olympic Peninsula city to consider fluoridating drinking water is Sequim.
Mayor Walt Schubert requested a study of adding fluoride to city drinking water early Wednesday, less than 12 hours after the Port Angeles City Council voted 6-1 in favor of fluoridation.
Forks is currently the only city in Clallam and Jefferson counties currently with a fluoridation system. Drinking water in Forks was first treated with fluoride in 1956.
