SEQUIM — Seniors at Sequim High School want to keep their audience rolling in the aisles.
The Senior Night Laugh In: One Hundred Years of Comedy, which officially kicked off Thursday and will be performed again Saturday, will include a revue of a host of comedy sketches from classic comedians.
The cast of about 25 students will use an assortment of sketches by Red Skelton, Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball, George Burns and Gracie Allen, Laurel and Hardy, and the Three Stooges to entertain, said Christine Paulsen, whose daughter, Lily, is in the show.
‘Really phenomenal’
“The kids are really just phenomenal,” Paulsen said.
The students were allowed to go through many different acts and select sketches for the play, she said.
The eight-week rehearsal period has allowed the students to polish their performances, she said.
The theme was selected in honor of Sequim High School’s centennial birthday.
Matinee performances are planned at 2 p.m. Saturday and at 4 p.m. Feb. 10.
Night performances
Evening performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, and 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students with Associated Student Body cards, children 12 and under and senior citizens.
Senior student fund
Ticket sales will go to the senior student fund, and the money raised from refreshments — which will be served Thursday through Feb. 12 — will go toward the high school’s operetta fund.
The operetta will be put on in the spring.
