SEQUIM — Incumbent Joe Hawe and challenger Soeren Poulsen displayed philosophical differences Thursday during their first debate in the campaign for Clallam County sheriff.
Poulsen appeared on the attack for most of the debate, while Hawe countered claims and defended his record during 12 years as sheriff.
Budgets, the drug task force, staffing deputies 24 hours a day and jail overcrowding were among the issues debated by the two Sequim residents at a meeting of the Sequim Rotary Club.
