Ballots will be mailed out today to voters in the Sequim School District, who are being asked to approve a 2-year, $5.4 million replacement maintenance and operations levy in a special election ending Feb. 3.
About 17,700 ballots — coming from eastern Clallam County and three small precincts in the Gardiner area of Jefferson County — include a return envelope which must be postmarked by midnight Feb. 3.
Because U.S. Postal facilities in Clallam and Jefferson counties schedule their final daily pickups from drop boxes in the early evening, officials from the elections divisions in both counties encourage voters to mail the ballots early in the day or, if possible, before Feb. 3.
Ballots may also be dropped off by 8 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Sequim Vehicle and Vessel Licensing Services, 1001 E. Washington St., Suite 3, Sequim.
