NEW YORK — College Board has named the Sequim School District on its 10th Advanced Placement District Honor Roll for the district’s gains in student access and success.
The annual listing reflects improvement in access and scores on AP exams or maintenance of previously recognized high levels of performance.
Sequim is one of 250 school districts across the U.S. and Canada, and seven districts in Washington, named this year.
Criteria for inclusion on the list include:
• Increase participation in AP exams by 4 percent in large districts, 6 percent in medium districts or 11 percent in small districts.
• Increase or maintain percentage of American Indian/Alaska Native, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino and Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander students taking AP exams and scoring 3 or higher on at least one exam.
• Improve percentage of students scoring 3 or higher on AP exams since 2016, or maintain performance at 70 percent or higher.
In addition to offering AP advanced placement exams, College Board also administers the SAT and PSAT college admission exams.
