SEQUIM — The city of Sequim has announced an online portal for residents to give feedback about the community in an effort to find an improved method for citizen engagement.
The city is working with Polco, an online polling service.
Residents can sign up for Polco at www.polco.us/sequim and about every two weeks they will be notified that there are four to seven new questions available to answer.
At sign-up people will be asked for their name, email, zip code and to set up a password.
The first questions, posted Tuesday, will be up for approximately three weeks, city officials said.
Initial poll questions are:
• How would you rate your community as a place to live?
• How would you rate your community as a place to raise children?
• How would you rate your community as a place to work?
• How would you rate your community as a place to visit?
• How would you rate your community as a place to retire?
• How would you rate your community as a place to play?
Later this month, the poll will list questions about solid waste and recycling services.
“We are excited about this opportunity to work with Polco to learn more about what is important to the citizens of Sequim,” City Manager Charlie Bush said in a press release.
“We are hopeful that these frequent but short polls will encourage more people to participate than what we see in a typical citizen survey.”
