SEQUIM — It’s pet-friendly.
There are hottubs in some living rooms.
And the lobby has a fireplace and a view of the indoor pool.
Sequim’s Quality Inn and Suites is set to open on Friday.
The $4 million project on River Road just off U.S. Highway 101 is the next piece of the development package put together by Patricia and Bret Wirta of Seattle.
The Quality Inn, Bret said, is Sequim’s answer to the Red Lion Hotel in Port Angeles.
“Sequim is big enough now,” he said, to support the 60-room, 10-suite hotel, whose amenities include a business meeting center that accommodates 100, seven rooms situated near a dog-walking track, a fitness room and wireless Internet.
People relocating to Sequim will have visitors, and now they will have a new inn to direct them to, said marketing adviser Damian Humphreys.
“This will be a place for them to come and say, ‘Wow, this is why you moved to Sequim.”‘
The 60,000-square-foot, three-story hotel has 14 people on staff now and may double that number during the busy tourist season, Humphreys said.
Most jobs are full time.
