SEQUIM — The city and Clallam County Public Utility District No. 1 will probably need mediation to determine who plays for installation of underground utilities during last year’s renovation of North Sequim Avenue.
District officials have sent the city a bill for $72,000 for materials, but City Manager Bill Elliott believes the cost of the materials was included in the construction bid.
The total cost of installing underground utilities was $338,679, with the utility district volunteering to contribute $142,000 of the $215,000 for materials, according to Elliott.
“I don’t see a big dog fight over this,” Elliott said Tuesday.
