SEQUIM — Police released a composite sketch today of a man sought in the Monday morning robbery of KeyBank on North Dunlap Street.
The man — who was wearing a grotesque mask — entered the bank branch, approached a teller, announced a robbery and fled on foot to the west of the bank. Witnesses saw him hop on a mountain bike where he made his escape into the neighborhood north of the bank, according to police.
He was described as a white male in his 30s to mid-40s, more than six feet tall and around 180 pounds with an “athletic” build.
He wore blue denim jeans and white athletic shoes. He carried a canvas-type shopping bag that he presented to the tellers to put money in.
He wore a latex type mask of either a dragon or demon, latex gloves that appeared oversized and in poor condition, and a hooded jacket that covered his head. The suspect was given the teller’s tray money and then moved to another teller, who gave him a stack of one-dollar bills and a few rolls of coins.
The suspect dropped the coins at the teller window before he fled.
No weapon was seen or mentioned during the robbery.
