SEQUIM — A movie pistol from the John Wayne family private collection on display at the John Wayne Marina building has been reported stolen.
No other items were taken from the glass-door case that since the mid-1990s has displayed some of the late actor’s Western movie memorabilia, including cowboy hats, photos and other items.
“They lifted the glass out somehow,” Tyler Kish, the marina’s assistant harbormaster, said Sunday.
“They didn’t even take the holster to the gun.”
The stolen revolver was plugged and cannot fire, said Kish, adding that he removed the remaining memorabilia from the case for safekeeping.
