SEQUIM — Parents of Sequim High School graduating seniors are seeking donations and other assistance in providing an alcohol and drug-free party for the Class of 2001.
“We cannot put this event on without your help,” said Procurement Committee Chairwoman Cynthia Martin, urging citizens and businesses to make contributions for the post-graduation party.
Through the years, numerous students have been killed or injured in alcohol- or drug-related incidents following graduation parties.
In an effort to reduce the number of such tragedies, parents of Sequim’s graduating seniors have sponsored the alcohol- and drug-free post-graduation party for more than nine years.
This year’s party will take place after commencement exercises from 10 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Saturday, June 8 and 9, at the Sequim Elks Club on Port Williams Road.
