SEATTLE — A Sequim man injured in a motorcycle wreck last weekend remained in serious condition in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Tuesday.
Eric T. Thomas, 50, lost control of the 1998 Honda GL 1500 motorcycle he was riding at about 1:15 p.m. Sunday, when traffic ahead of him slowed on northbound Interstate 5 about a mile south of Chehalis, the State Patrol reported.
Both the motorcycle and Thomas came to rest in the center lane.
Thomas suffered a shoulder injury and facial lacerations, said Capt. Ted McCarty of the Chehalis Fire Department.
He was flown to Harborview, the region’s advanced trauma center, as a precaution in case of internal injuries.
A spokeswoman for the hospital said Thomas remained in the ICU unit Tuesday afternoon.
Thomas was wearing a helmet, and drugs or alcohol were not involved, the State Patrol said.
