Sequim’s next library probably won’t be built next to Sequim Middle School on Hendrickson Road.
North Olympic Library System trustees did not take action Thursday on a proposed plan to acquire a purchase option on the property.
After a 50-minute executive session, Chairman Gary McLaughlin said the board is awaiting further recommendations from the Sequim Building Advisory Committee.
He said the Hendrickson Road property could still come under consideration.
“They could come back to us with a revised (purchase price),” McLaughlin said, adding the board hasn’t had the property appraised.
But real estate sales agent Catherine Mich, representing the estate of the deceased property owner, indicated the library probably wouldn’t be built on that piece of property after providing information during the board’s executive session.
