SEQUIM — Final tallies for the Sequim School District replacement maintenance and operations levy request show a clear victory for the district after Clallam County Auditor Cathleen McKeown certified election results Friday.
Voting “yes”‘ were 73.62 percent among Clallam County district voters in the two-year, $5.16 million request.
The levy received 9,914 votes in favor and 3,533 — or 26.38 percent — opposed.
The all-mail election ended May 18.
The district also takes in a precinct in the Gardiner area of Jefferson County.
Preliminary results for that precinct reflect a 58 percent “yes” result, just shy of the 60 percent needed to pass levy requests.
Gardiner results from May 18 showed 97 voting in favor of the levy and 57 voting against.
Final certified results were unavailable Saturday from the Jefferson County Auditor’s Office.
