John Wayne Marina in Sequim was recognized as the best small marina in the June 2003 issue of Sea magazine.
The “Best of the West”‘ list of boating experiences was comprised of locations from Mexico from Alaska.
The Sequim marina, owned by the Port of Port Angeles, was built in 1985 on 22 acres of land donated by the family of the late actor.
The marina features permanent and transient moorage, fuel, restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, a picnic area and memorabilia of “The Duke.”
Sea magazine has circulated in 13 Western states since making its debut in 1908 as Pacific Motor Boat magazine.
