SEQUIM — Community festivals are about carrying on traditions, and the parade has always been the focal point of the Sequim Irrigation Festival.
The festival celebrates its 107th anniversary this year and is the oldest continuous festival in Washington state.
This year’s Grand Parade starts at noon Saturday, marching east to west between Dunlap and Fifth avenues.
AccuWeather Inc. forecasts published by the Peninsula Daily News are calling for mostly sunny skies with temperatures pushing just past 60.
Washington Street will be closed to traffic at 11 a.m. People needing to move about north of Washington Street can use Fir Street, Hendrickson Road and Old Olympic Highway. Prairie Street is a through street on the south side of Washington or people can use U.S. Highway 101 to get from one end of town to the other during the parade.
