SEQUIM — Four finalists for the city’s police chief position begin their two-day visit during a 4:30 p.m. public reception today.
The reception will be held at the headquarters station of Clallam County Fire District No. 3, 323 N. Fifth Ave.
The finalists are:
* Elwood Cushman, a lieutenant with the Eugene, Ore. Police department.
He has been with the department for many years, according to his father. He leads a community policing division.
* Kelly Rosenow, assistant chief in Toppenish. He is second-in-command in the 17-member police force that serves the city of 7,900 south of Yakima.
* Ken Burge, former police chief of Glendale, Colo., a suburb of Denver.
Burge was forced from that office after an election shifted power on the Glendale City Council, according to a report in the April 10 Denver Post.
* Steve Robertson, director of the department of emergency management in Indianapolis, Ind.
